I turned 30 earlier this year and was lucky enough to travel to Punta Cana with my friends to celebrate
Where I stayed?
We stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace, fun option for the entire family with a great beach-front, several pools, a waterpark, spa and many other activities. Please note that this is an all-inclusive resort, most of the food and activities are included but in some cases you can pay for an upgrade. The resort is big so be prepared to walk, but it does have everything you would want to do on your relaxing beach vacation.
How to get around?
You really don’t need to leave the resort and most all-inclusive packages do have airport transfers, but if you do want to explore I recommend to contact your hotel concierge or travel agency and book a tour (many options available, including private tours if you prefer!)
What to eat?
I have to say that the food was my least favourite part of the trip. Be sure to book your a-la-carte dinners as soon as possible, they are included as well, but book very fast! My favourite was the steakhouse dinner, we had a table on the patio, other options include french, italian, seafood and traditional dominican.
What to do?
My favourite plan during all-inclusive vacations is to relax at the beach all morning, lounge by the pool in the afternoon and dance the night away but if you feel like changing the plan, there are other activities both in the resort and outside. If you don’t feel like leaving the resort you can visit the spa, the water park or the arcade and if you are feeling more adventurous, contact you hotel concierge for more information on zip-lining, snorkeling, catamaran cruises or sightseeing tours to Santo Domingo.
My favourite part of the trip
Do I need to say more….?
